The Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1991 through thevision and dedicated efforts of a small group of scientists, environmentalists and citizens. The Refuge protects one of the most important sea turtle nesting beaches in the Western Hemisphere. These beaches are globally recognized for their conservation value.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge, the Friends of the Carr Refuge will host a special “by invitation only” dinner at the Eau Gallie Yacht Club. This will be a historic reunion of many leaders who contributed to the formation of this special refuge and to its early years of operation.
